What depicts state of the art in the cellphone industry as we knew it before the iPhone?

It’s the Nokia 5800! It is! It is!

(why yes, I’m just a little annoyed at this gadget. So near and yet so far. Interface that makes a command line seem user-friendly, body too big for a candybar, screen too small for browsing, needs a stylus, proprietary Nokia headphones only … ARGH. At least it makes phone calls. Browse only in desperation, though. And woe betide anyone who wants to enter text.)
